These two designs were done in different ways, but still, in much the same way.

I like to work in a spontaneous manner,  and don't normally use templates.

Instead, I do some preliminary sketches on paper,

then start inputting the stitches onscreen freehand on the screen.

I go on walks with my sketchbook and draw things that interest me in order to absorb them.

When I get back to the studio, I start the digitizing.

It may take more than a year to complete a design.

I think of the embroidery as part of a larger item,

they are the components of larger pieces.

On the home page you can see these designs in a finished piece.

Here are some designs I made out of built in stitches.

You can come up with many designs by just playing with your built in stitches. Here are a few that I came up with.
You can download the cross stitch design and some others by clicking  here

This is a design I made by combining several built in PCD stitches.

I added color changes to make editing easier.

Of course,

you can make it all one color.

below is a design made from a pcd stitch Lea Brown made years ago. I then brought it into PCD, did a little editing to make this frame design.

This design is composed of various combinations of 6 built in stitches

from the Pfaff 7570 machine
